Four Psychos a book by Kristy cunnings #bookblogger #amreading #Booklover

So if you were a boy band, you’d be One Erection,” I state, rambling because they have me nervous.

So, I am a find-my-that-one-soul-mate kinda book girl. I read a lot of shifter romance books. But while trying to find something new to read ( You see I have to complete my read 100 books a year #Goodreadschallenge) I came across the plot of this book. A ghost girl living with 4 handsome guys. Come on!!!! Even this line is enough to intrigue you. And for me? I am just a mere mortal. (Oh!! also, this girl is not just a girl) ;) The quote above is a glimpse of its humor.
This is a paranormal fantasy, with a sassy, sarcastic, kickass, self-proclaimed funny bitch, who is also very sexy. ( So not fair!!!) Yet innocent/ignorant to worldly matters like walking is hard with stupid gravity. Our main character is Keyla who was a ghost haunting / watching over these 4 drop-dead gorgeous soul-reaping warriors too (yummy!!). Do not take her name seriously, she wants to change it now! But things changed with Lucifer (yep, the Lord of Hell) and his 5 children holding the trials and suddenly, the 4 hunks needed a wee bit of protection from the assassins, and who better than our friendly live-in ghost who was leveling up to be more human with each amp-up of power.

The author Kristy Cunning ( not her real name! do not tell anyone.) had me wrapped in the story pretty well as the plot was so darn exciting. There were many twists and turns with Keyla using undiscovered powers to zap the baddies. It was good to see that the author did not use sex as the main theme, the haunted (did I mention my favorite part?) hunks slowly came to be aware of her, they could see and talk to her, then touch her. There was attraction, but none of the guys lost track of their mission. There was this continuous too and fro zings of sensuous frisson between them.

Though I would mention that many times it made me think about power imbalance ( not just zapping powers, but physical and emotional). I was also very uncomfortable when she finally became a real girl for the first time and the guy tried to have sex with her immediately. After that for few pages, it was almost they are waiting for her to get her body so they could do it with her. The storyline in all is good if you leave some such points. ( But, They are from hell, could you complain when they are supposed to have low moral ground???)

Overall a good book one read from this trilogy. Also, be aware that the book contains **Sexual situations **Reverse Harem **Dark humor galore **Language warning. They are the residents of hell after all. ;)

I'm not so different from most people.
Like everyone else, I have life goals.
Goal #1: Become a real girl instead of this invisible ghost thing I currently am.

Goal #2: Convince the four men I've been haunting for the past five years to pick me to be their new toy after goal one is complete.

Goal #3: Figure out who/what I am and why I can't remember anything past the five years I've been haunting this quad.

Goal #4: Eat popcorn.

See? Perfectly normal. Sort of.
Gotta start small, after all.
It's not like anyone else is perfect either.

Poison Study Series by Maria V. Snyder

“Everyone makes choices in life. Some bad, some good. It's called living, and if you want to bow out, then go right ahead. But don't do it halfway. Don't linger in whiner's limbo.” I read this book in 2015 and still remember the story that is the impact of this book. Poison Study is easily one of the best-written and underrated high fantasy, young adult series that I’ve come across, and I’m so happy that I reread it again this year.   After a while, YA high fantasy tends to become oversaturated with similar storylines, but this was SO ORIGINAL and I LOVED IT. I also enjoyed how character-driven this novel was, rather than emphasizing the fantasy aspects (although magic is very much prevalent). Yelena is a brave, clever, and determined young woman, who was given the chance to escape execution, in exchange for taking up the position as the Commander’s food taster, a potentially lethal occupation. She consistently fought over and over again for her own survival, never allo...

Good Omens

I had tried to read this book a few years back and was completely fumbling through it. I am not very well acquainted with the bible and was not able to connect to the matter. Then last year Amazon released the tv series Good Omens. I fell in love with Aziraphale (angel) and Crowley (demon). I decided to read the book again and this time I understood it. I did some research and found it more enriching. The story superficially is good, goofy, engaging, and weird. Don’t be misled by those who class this as fantasy, humor, or just fiction it is all of those and much more. This is actually a profound philosophical and theological treatise, exploring good and evil, nature versus nurture, free will, war, pollution, and organized religion. 😉 It’s cleverly disguised as a madcap caper featuring angels, demons, the M25 motorway, Manchester, raining fish, dolphins, Atlantis, aliens, the Apocalypse, the young Antichrist, witches, witch-finders, whales, Hell's Angels, junk food made of junk, n...
